African Union

We visited African Union on August 21.  The new African Union is a spectacular $200M compound donated by Chinese government. The construction was completed in 2 years, a spectacular speed.  The camera can not capture the grandness of the structure.

The entire building belong to us.  We visit conferences rooms from the biggest to the smallest, for two leaders private conversation.  Oriental influence are visible in many of the furniture and decorations.     This is the VIP lounge, behind the glass wall is a rest room, equipped a triple sized toilet.  I don't know why the VIPs needs such a enormous equipment.

BTY, I would like to comment on the Ethiopia and Chinese relation here.  Ethiopians love Chinese.  At MoH, where I work, people showed me special fondness and trust when I told them I am from China. The director even greet me and talk to me in Chinese.  Chinese built structures are everywhere, buildings, telecom, road, railroad, light rail, factories, hospitals .  The little road side shops are filled with Chinese products, from fashions, shoes, to plastic products and build materials.  Ethiopians are small as Asians, so the street fashion is almost like the fashion in a small Chinese town.
